WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning people to immediately stop using an infant walker that was sold on Amazon.com.

The CPSC said it issued a notice of violation to the seller, All Merchandise of Charlotte, North Carolina, because Comfi Baby Infant Walkers could cause children to fall and become trapped.

Officials say the walkers violate federal safety regulations for three reasons:

  • They fit through standard doorways
  • They are not designed to stop at the edge of stairs
  • The leg openings are large enough for a child to slip through, possibly causing their head to become trapped

The walkers, which cost about $100, were sold on Amazon.com from October 2022 to March 2023. The walkers have a gray seat, a gray tray with toys attached, and a push handle. The height settings can also be adjusted.

“Comfi Baby” is printed on the top frame and the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is B0BFJNQSW7.

The CPSC is urging parents to immediately throw the walker away and report any incidents of injury or “product defect” to the commission.

The CPSC says there is no chance for a repair, since All Merchandise is no longer in business.
