Three people were arrested on Friday, March 22 after a shooting, allegedly in retaliation for a 2022 stabbing, left a teenager injured in Redlands, the Redlands Police Department said Saturday in a news release.

Redlands Police arrived at the Redlands Community Center on Wednesday, March 20 following a report of  shots fired on the 1200 block of Clay Street after 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the suspects chased the victim through the center and left through the doors to the gymnasium, the news release said.

Officers found a gunshot victim behind the community center at 111 W. Lugonia Avenue. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is recovering.

Investigators believe the shooting was planned in retaliation to a stabbing that occurred on Dec. 3, 2022, at the Summit Apartments on the 27400 block of West San Bernardino Avenue, near the Mountain Grove shopping center, according to the Redlands Police news release.

A fight involving 20 people resulted in four victims being stabbed and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A16-year-old juvenile allegedly committed all four stabbings and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

Isaiah Martinez, 19, of Redlands was identified as the suspected shooter in Wednesday’s shooting while Jayson Alfaro, 20, of San Bernardino was the getaway driver, Redlands Police said.

A 17-year-old Redlands teen was identified as an involved co-conspirator.

All three suspects were arrested Friday on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy, the news release said. Martinez and Alfaro were arrested in Redlands and are being held on $2 million bail, arrest records show.

The teenager was also charged with a probation violation and is being held at Juvenile Hall, police said.

Alfaro was also arrested on suspicion of accessory after the fact.
