The body of missing college student Riley Strain was recovered Friday morning in the Cumberland River in west Nashville, according to police.

The University of Missouri student went missing about two weeks ago, after having last been seen on surveillance tapes leaving a Nashville bar, apparently intoxicated.

Metro Nashville Police Department said the body was recovered about eight miles away from the downtown.

The department said that there was no "foul play-related trauma" detected and an autopsy is pending.

Strain and his fraternity brothers were visiting Nashville for a formal. He was reported missing March 9.

Strain's family members told ABC News that when he spoke to them before he went missing he didn't sound intoxicated and the last text he sent to his mom was "I love you."
