The initial investigation determined that Webber was westbound on Highway 16/60 in a 2013 Dodge Dart when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with Hutton’s eastbound 2022 Mercedes Sprinter van, about a mile east of Columbus, Schmidt said.
Webber had to be extricated from the vehicle before she was pronounced dead at the scene. Hutton’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, Schmidt said, adding that the drivers were alone in their vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
