Armagh crash: Funeral details confirmed for victims of ‘unspeakable tragedy’

The PSNI has confirmed the names of the four people who sadly died in a single vehicle road traffic collision in Armagh at the weekend.

They were Marina Crilly, aged 24, Emma Mallon (22), Philip Mitchel (27) and Keith Morrison (22). They were all from the Armagh area.

Funeral arrangements for all four have now been made public.

The collision, which involved a grey Volkswagen Golf, occurred on the Ballynahonemore Road at around 2.10am on Sunday, March 24.

The driver and three passengers of the vehicle were sadly declared deceased at the scene.

Mr Morrison’s funeral service will take place on Friday at noon in Lislooney Presbyterian Church, Tynan, with committal afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

A funeral notice said he will be “lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family and entire family circle”.

Ms Crilly’s funeral will take on Friday at 11am at St Patrick's Church Ballymacnab.

She was the beloved daughter of Sally and the late Jason and devoted mummy to Cillian.

"Loving sister of Jake and Mark and cherished granddaughter of Corney and Patricia Boyle and the late Joe and Marie Crilly,” her funeral notice said.

A funeral service for Mr Mitchell will take place in First Presbyterian Church Armagh on Friday at 2.30pm followed by interment at Ballynahone Cemetery.

He was the beloved son of Janet and Roy. His funeral notice added: “Dearly loved brother of Keith (Courtney), Andrew (Danielle) and Tracey (Jonny), cherished Grandson of Beth, dear uncle of Curtis, Kayleb, Rhoda-Beth, Harvey, Josh and Hannah.

And Ms Mallon’s funeral Mass will take place at 2pm on Sunday at St John’s Church Middletown.

Her funeral notice said: “Beloved daughter of Cathy, Raymond, loving sister of Carrie, Lisa, auntie of Fianna, Saoirse, Rían, brothers in law Christopher, Jordan, dear granddaughter of Carmel, the late Brendan, the late Kathleen and the late Jim Owens.”

Inspector Cherith Adair, from the Police Service's Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The thoughts of the entire Police Service are very much with the families, friends and loved ones of these young people who have lost their lives in what was an unspeakable tragedy.

“A thorough and sensitive investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened remains ongoing.

"The Ballynahonemore Road, which had been closed since the collision occurred, has now fully re-opened.

“We are asking anyone who might have any information which could assist us to get in touch with the Collision Investigation Unit.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 180 of 24/03/24.”
