TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Public Works Department (TPW) is alerting residents of a road closure to repair a sinkhole.

On Tuesday, announced that Southeast California Avenue will be closed between SE Sixth Street and SE 10th Street to repair a sinkhole that was created by a water line break. The closure will start on Wednesday, March 27 and is expected to end on Wednesday, April 10.

A detour will be provided for northbound SE California Avenue. Drivers should turn right onto SE 10th Street to SE Sixth Street to SE California Avenue. For southbound traffic, turn left onto SE Sixth Street and then turn right onto SE 10th Street.
