Nancy Ann McKee-Sanderson

Nancy Ann McKee-Sanderson, 75, died March 13, 2024, in Colorado Springs after a battle with dementia. 

She was born Dec. 23, 1948, to Frank and Dora Alice Boyden. 

She lived in many states, including Iowa, California, Hawaii and Alabama, before moving to Leadville in 1988, where she was known to most with her work at Quincy’s Restaurant from 1997 until her retirement.

Mrs. McKee-Sanderson loved the work at the restaurant and especially her customers and employees. After her death, many prior employees and customers contacted her family to say how much she made them feel like family. 

After retiring, she relocated to Nathrop, where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going for walks, gardening, making jewelry and shopping trips to the city. In 2021, she moved to Salida and then to Colorado Springs due to health reasons. 

Mrs. McKee-Sanderson was the mother of three daughters, Kimberly and twins, Katy and Kelly. She was grandma to Riley and Gaige Nacke. 

She was also a pet lover and leaves behind her faithful companion, Chili.

Her family said Mrs. McKee-Sanderson was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Michael McKee, sister Pamela Boyden and daughter Kelly McKee. 

Survivors include her daughters Kimberly (Alex) Walker of Salida and Katy McKee of Denver; sister Delores Zeimet of Greeley; ex-husband Rich Sanderson of Salida; brother, David Boyden of Leadville; grandchildren, Riley and Gaige Nacke of Westfield, Illinois; friend Dale Ford of Nathrop; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. April 27, 2024, at Quincy’s Restaurant in Leadville. 

Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida.
