GUEST: The lady I was named after... APPRAISER: Yeah?
GUEST: ...left it to me when she passed away in 1952.
Her name was Mary Nelson Shaw.
APPRAISER: We have a clue to that here, don't we?
Because most of them, I think, are engraved with the S for Shaw on there.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: We've got everything you need for a really wonderful dinner.
You've got a big soup ladle here, fish, uh, slice.
You got a serving forks.
You've got smaller sort of sauce ladles, s, vegetable servers, two sets of carving tools.
It's also got a meat skewer, which I love.
GUEST: I know, huh?
APPRAISER: Yeah, and two sets of, uh, forks, two sets of knives.
It's everything, and it's all contained within this wonderful mahogany box.
It was made around 1898.
The pattern for this is very Art Nouveau in style, right?
So, you have all of these scrolling tendrils and flowers.
GUEST: Uh-huh.
APPRAISER: For insurance, uh, you'd have to cover it for at least $15,000.
GUEST: Okay.
Mama used it every weekend... APPRAISER: Right.
GUEST: ...but we don't.
That's right.
We used it for the holiday.
APPRAISER: I'm really happy that you still use it, though.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: I mean, it's important to have these things...
GUEST: It's fine.
APPRAISER: ...and use them and enjoy them.
