Wilkes University holds Health and Wellness Fair

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Health and Wellness Fair was held in the Student Center on the campus of Wilkes University.

The event is to help educate and inform students about the importance of living a healthy and safe lifestyle.

It was open to both students and community members.

Friends of the Poor host an Easter basket giveaway

There were members of the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department in attendance.

Nursing students also had tables set up to help check for cancer and blood pressure.

Tables were also set up to help address students’ physical and mental health.

“On the college campus many people aren’t really aware of everything that can happen, so it’s really just letting people know that hey these are the things to look for and just try to keep everyone safe and happy,” said Wilkes University Student from Dallas Hayley Besek.

They also had giveaways throughout the day that were related to health and wellness.
