SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Thursday, local Boy Scouts rolled up their sleeves to help restore the benches at Headid Park in Sioux City.

The scouts, from Bishop Heelan, West, and North, took time out of their Easter break to paint these benches.

The scouts took advantage of the nice weather and started preparing the benches Thursday morning. Once they were done with that, they started the painting process.

It was all part of Aidan Hauck’s Eagle Scout project.

“These stands have been notoriously bad for a long time. And we decided that the best way to help this area out is to do it for free. Cause honestly this place doesn’t make a lot of money and we want kids to be able to still play baseball and the parents not be afraid that they are going to fall through their seat,” said Aidan Hauck, a Life Scout.

Aidan used to play baseball at Headid Park, so wanted to make sure it could be used for the generations to come.
