Two Glynn County firefighters injured after weekend fire

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Two Glynn County firefighters are recovering after being injured and trapped in a fire Saturday night.

William Spooner and Nathan Desrosiers discovered the fire in the 1900 block of Fifth Street in Brunswick.

They reported the fire; asked for backup then went into the house to search for possible victims. Conditions rapidly deteriorated.

The firefighters called “maydays” indicating they were in danger and separated. Another fire crew raced inside--- found and rescued the downed firefighters. They were treated for second degree burns at the hospital.

They were released that night and will begin treatment and recovery to return to full duty. It was determined that no one was home at the time of the fire. The remains under investigation.
