Ribbon Cutting at Mammoth Cave National Park hotel

MAMMOTH CAVE, KY.- What all started as a roof replacement quickly became more problems for a local national park.

Mammoth Cave National Park has officially fully opened the Mammoth Cave Hotel. After years of construction the roof has been replaced and visitors will be able to experience all the historic caves have to offer.

James Cheely, the project manager for National Contracting Services tells us,  “You have to remember that you’re working on a natural resource for our government. So you take pride in the fact that millions of people are going to walk through the doors of this facility, but as we started this, we discovered problems from the sixties. And so discovering problems from the sixties created every day a new opportunity to try to figure out how to solve those problems”

This is not the final project for Mammoth Cave. The park will be breaking ground on four new family-sized cabins. News 40 will keep you up to date with this story.
