Beverly Garster

Beverly Jean Garster, 93 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Beverly was born on February 13, 1931, the daughter of Damas and Jeanette (Sabourin) French in Grafton, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Grafton. Beverly was united in marriage to William Garster on July 7, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They made their home in Grafton for a couple of years before moving to Minneapolis in 1953, where Beverly worked at Dayton’s Art Gallery. They moved to Grand Forks in 1968. Beverly worked at Rydell Chevrolet, Northwestern Bell and the Grand Forks Air Force Base until her retirement in 1996.

Beverly enjoyed cooking, listening to music, Bingo, playing cards, Scrabble and games on the computer. She also watched Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. Beverly cherished time spent with her friends, especially her family and the family vacations to various lakes.

Beverly is survived by her children, Bill (April) Garster of Grand Forks, ND; Rick (Linda) Garster of Littleton, CO and Karen Garster of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, Kristi (Lydell) Williams, Kathi (John) Fuller, Karly Garster, Alexa Garster and Emma Ceaglske; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Noah and Dimash; brothers, Wes (Pat) French of Princeton, MN and Darryl French of Eagan, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, daughter, Leanne Garster; brothers, Duane and Ordean French, sisters, Shirley VanCamp and Janice Loos.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
