The real reason Prince Harry is not part of King Charles' future plans for the Royal Family is due to trust issues, according to Royal expert Tom Quinn.

Prince Harry, 39, who stepped back from his Royal duties with wife Meghan Markle in January 2020, has been left out of the discussions about the monarchy's future. His older brother, Prince William, is at the heart of these plans.

Tom told The Mirror that the Prince of Wales, 41, is "at the heart of the succession planning", but Harry has been excluded because "no one trusts Harry".

Since Harry and Meghan, 42, are no longer senior working royals, they have been intentionally left out of the succession plans. Tom believes this is because they're no longer part of the inner circle in the monarchy.

He explained: "Harry is definitely not being included in succession talks because he is no longer a working or even a trusted royal - he has got his wish and is no longer the spare, or at least he is only nominally the spare. This may well be a case of 'beware you get what you wish for!"

Tom shared that Prince William is central to the plans happening right now for who will next sit on the throne, following 75 year old Charles's diagnosis of an unknown type of cancer this February. While he has already begun treatment and is resting at the Royal Sandringham property in Norfolk, the King is eager to set his future plans in motion.

"Officials had assumed Charles would remain healthy at least into his mid-eighties before succession planning would need to begin but in fact it has now begun and indicates perhaps that Charles' cancer is more dangerous than we have been led to believe," said Tom.

Planning for the future of the monarchy is a top-secret affair, and as Harry continues to comment on the Royal Family in high-profile interviews, he has been dubbed untrustworthy over fears he will spill the beans.

“Succession planning is highly secret and no one trusts Harry to be part of it for the simple reason that if he feels in any way slighted or not given what he feels he deserves he will run straight to the media,” Tom explained.
