FAIRFIELD TWP., Ohio (WKBN) — Parts of state Route 11 northbound in Columbiana County were closed for hours early Tuesday morning after a tanker truck fire.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported both northbound lanes were closed for a time, but as of just after 6 a.m., the left lane had reopened. It was closed once more just after 7 a.m. in order for a tow truck to access the scene and remove the burnt truck.

OSHP troopers say the fire started sometime before 5:30 a.m. near the bridge that crosses Lodge Road in Fairfield Township.

The tanker truck’s tires caught fire, which spread to the tank.

No injuries were reported.
