Animal: Fred, 5--year-old, 75-pound male Labrador retriever-terrier mix.

Where: Rancho Coastal Humane Society, 389 Requeza St., Encinitas. Open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays through Mondays or Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment.

Adoption fee: $145, including microchip registration, spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.

Profile: Fred is always ready to snuggle, play ball or do zoomies. He’s looking for an active family.
