HEFEI, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Technology is changing almost every aspect of life in the digital way. With the help of digital technology, intangible cultural heritage techniques not only rebirth but also "come back to life" in a brand-new way. The establishment of digital archives has laid a solid foundation for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage techniques in east China's Anhui Province.
"Focusing on 35 intangible cultural heritage projects, we have carried out digital conversion to ensure that each intangible cultural heritage project has at least visualized three-dimensional model and corresponding graphic and text data," said Wang Jinyu, Director of Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of Hefei Cultural Center.
Through VR goggles and AR technology, the audience can experience almost every detail of intangible cultural heritage techniques.
"Through the interaction with AR, users can better understand the story behind the intangible cultural heritage," said Li Hao, Leader of Digital Communication at the Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China.
"We have created the AR Luzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage APP and a series of applets. What's more, we have introduced a number of immersive interactive projects to make tourists experience the cultural charm brought by intangible cultural heritage techniques in an immersive approach," Wang added.
Digital technology brings to intangible cultural heritage techniques the continuation of their lifespan, and we are witnessing the rebirth of intangible cultural heritage techniques.
