PUPPET MASTER: Jeff Dunham

Celebrated ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is no dummy. The record-breaking comedy superstar sells out arenas around the world, bringing along his ill-behaved puppets including grouchy Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, redneck Bubba J. and Peanut. He found a niche in the entertainment scene that earned him a Guinness World Record for most tickets sold for a standup comedy tour. His 60-city Passively Aggressive tour hits Amalie Arena at 3 p.m. Sunday. 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. $48.25. (813) 301-2500. amaliearena.com.

TEAMWORK: Victor Wooten Band with Sinbad

Voted one of the top 10 bassists of all time by Rolling Stone, Grammy winner Victor Wooten and his band will be joined by comedian Sinbad, voted one of the top 100 comics of all time by Comedy Central. The comedian will be handling "percussion, comedy and who knows what else," Wooten said in announcing the Fun & Funk Xplosion tour. Sinbad has toured with other jazz musicians and recently told the Albuquerque Journal: "I think I enjoy music more because it's not what I do for a living. Comedy and film are the moneymakers for me. With music, it still feels like it's solely mine, even though I'm on stage sharing it with an audience." 8 p.m. May 2 at the Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. $39.50-$64.50. New this year is a kickoff celebration at 6 p.m. Friday in Vinoy Park with a free concert by country artist Erin Cosgrove and a Tom Petty tribute by the Petty Hearts. There's also a Fitness Expo from Friday through Sunday in Straub Park with sporting equipment and accessories. And at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, the elite athletes return for the race's 35th year on the downtown waterfront, with world-class athletes and Olympians in a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run. Vinoy Park, 501 Fifth Ave. NE, St. Petersburg. $160-$180. (727) 825-1521. For the full schedule and registration, go to satriathlon.com.
