(KRON) — A “chop shop” filled with stolen vehicles was discovered hidden inside an unlicensed vehicle repair shop in Santa Rosa, California Highway Patrol investigators said.

Sonoma County Auto Theft Task Force detectives served a search warrant on the repair shop on Friday and made two arrests. Pablo Gonzalez Rojas, 21, and Leonardo Sanchez Roman, 33, both of Santa Rosa, were arrested and booked into jail on charges related to vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and operating a chop shop, according to the CHP.

When the task force searched the property, “dozens of vehicles were found in various states of repair or destruction. Seven of the vehicles were identified as being stolen. Of those seven, all had various parts and components removed, altered identification numbers, or were in the process of being destroyed to hide their true identity,” the CHP wrote.
