HIGHLIGHTS: D.C. Everest sweeps Eau Claire North on the diamond, Mosinee softball stays perfect

SCHOFIELD, Wis. (WSAW) - D.C. Everest and Mosinee started their weekends the right way, picking up wins on the diamond on Friday afternoon.

Beginning with the Everest baseball team, the Evergreens topped Eau Claire North 11-1 in at Simon Field. George Jablonski helped break the game open in the third inning with a two-run base hit with two outs to give the Evergreens a 4-1 lead at the time. The Evergreens are now 3-2 and are back home on Tuesday to face Wausau East.

The D.C.E softball team welcomed in Eau Claire North as well and also nabbed a win, beating the Huskies 4-1. Addison Kluck flourished in the circle, striking out the side in back-to-back innings to start the game. Everest improves to 3-1 and will travel to Wisconsin Rapids next on Tuesday.

In conference play, Mosinee kept their overall perfect record intact, toppling Tomahawk 15-0 in four innings. Taelyn Jirschele led off the game with a home run, setting the tone for Mosinee’s great day at the plate. Mosinee continues their perfect record, now sitting at 8-0. They’re next in action on Saturday, hosting Assumption for a doubleheader. Tomahawk drops to 3-3, setting up a date at Antigo on Tuesday.
