A weak storm out of the North Pacific will produce scattered showers across San Diego County throughout the weekend and temperatures that will be several degrees below average, the National Weather Service said.

Saturday will begin with a thick marine layer along the entire coastline and possibly patches of fog in some areas. The intermittent showers will begin in late morning or early afternoon and won’t end until Sunday night.

Forecasters said about 0.20 inches of rain could fall from the coast to inland valleys and foothills, and about twice that much in the mountains, where the winds will gust 45 mph to 55 mph on Saturday and Sunday night. Snow flurries are possible down to the 4,500-foot level.
