Swiggy Introduces New Service Pet Pawlice To Find Lost Pets And Pawternity Policy For Pet Parents

Desi food delivery giant Swiggy will now help you find your lost pups and kitties too. The company today launched a new fleet of Pet Pawlices who will help hoomans locate their lost pets. In its press release, the company stated that the app is “harnessing the network of Swiggy’s delivery partners as compassionate allies in the search efforts.” Swiggy Food Marketplace CEO Rohit Sharma quipped that, as a pet parent, he knows the worry and anguish that come with the thought of a pet gone missing. He remarked that Swiggy Pawlice will aid pet parents in the unfortunate event that any pets go missing. The new service was launched in Mumbai in the presence of Tata Trust and Goodfellow’s Shantanu Naidu, the trusted aide to Ratan Tata and a pet lover himself. On the occasion, Naidu, who is on board the Tata Animal Hospital, said that such services that “We want such services that we daily rely on to demonstrate empathy and mindfulness towards the world around us.”

In order to avail the services of the Pawlice fleet, log in and provide all the important details of the missing pet, along with pictures. Swiggy delivery partners will receive a ping who is closest to providing assistance. If the pet is found, the delivery personnel will inform Swiggy and will not themselves retrieve the stranded animal. The location of the pet will be communicated with the owner. The delivery partner will receive “some rewards as a token of appreciation," the presser reads.

Meanwhile, yesterday, on April 11, on the occasion of National Pets Day, the company announced an exciting new policy for pet parents: the "Swiggy Paw-ternity Policy.” The policy is for full-time employees who will be entitled for a casual or sick leave for taking care of their ill or injured pets, taking them for vaccination, and also avail bereavement leave, in addition to leaves for new pet adoption.
