The Berks Heritage Council is holding its inaugural Berks History Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead, 1700 Tulpehocken Road, Wyomissing.
More than 20 museums and historic sites from across Berks County will take part in the event, which features displays of unique historic artifacts, participatory activities appropriate for all ages, merchandise available for purchase, a scavenger hunt, food vendors, prizes and a bounce house. Guides will be offering tours of the Nicholas Stoltzfus house.
The event is free of charge and will be held rain or shine.

Harlem Wizards game
The Harlem Wizards will play a team of Muhlenberg School District teachers and administrators in a fundraising basketball game on Saturday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5.
The event is being presented by the Muhlenberg School District Foundation. Tickets are available in advance at www.harlemwizards.com. Cost is $12 for students and $15 for general admission. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s educational efforts in the community.
Springtime walk
On Saturday at 6:30 pm, the Dreibelbis Farm Historical Society will host a Spring Peeper and Wetlands Walk at the Historic Dreibelbis Farm near Virginville.
The event features the Vernal Pool on the farm’s wetlands area near the Maiden Creek. Guide Amy Langman will introduce the tiny singing frogs called Spring Peepers. There are thousands of them in the pool.
Participants should wear waterproof boots for ankle-deep mud and water.
The event is free to the public and will be held rain or shine. Parking is on-site and monetary donations will be accepted. The farm is located on Route 143 in Richmond Township. Street address: 356 Hard Hill Road, Hamburg.

Conrad Weiser musical
Conrad Weiser High School is presenting “Seussical the Musical,” a family friendly show based on the works of Dr. Seuss. The annual spring musical aims to raise funds to help the district teach students life skills and real world job skills through theater technique and production, according to school officials.
“Seussical” will be performed Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium at 44 Big Spring Road in Robesonia. Tickets will be available at the door for $12. Patrons may visit cwhsmusical.org to save $2 on admission.
The musical program is hosting a book drive Friday and Saturday to benefit Bethany Children’s Home near Womelsdorf. Gently used books suitable for middle and high school aged children will be collected. Book donation receptacles will be in the auditorium lobby.
Family Promise
Family Promise of Berks County will hold a Meet and Greet Supper Meal at Christ Lutheran Church, 1301 Luzerne St., Reading, Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet new Executive Director Jill Skoutelas and hear an organizational update.

Learn about downsizing
On Monday at 1 p.m. the Wyomissing Public Library will offer a program on “Dealing with Downsizing: Smart Moves for Seniors.” The program, sponsored by Country Meadows Retirement Communities, is designed to assist people, particularly seniors, who are thinking about moving to smaller quarters.
Whether maintaining a home has become too burdensome, or you want to live closer to family or in a community that is senior-oriented, this program will help you figure it all out.
The presenter is Mark Shoener, a senior real estate specialist with Berkshire Hathaway, who has had special training in helping seniors with their housing needs.

History hike
A history hike will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Daniel Boone Homestead, Exeter Township, presented by Daniel Boone Homestead Associates.
Explore the site’s history and landscapes. Please wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water. There is no fee for this program. Friendly dogs are welcome to join on the hike and must be kept on a leash at all times. Animals are not permitted in the historic buildings.
Redistricting program
The League of Women Voters of Berks County presents a program on redistricting Tuesday from 8 to 9 p.m. on BCTV, available live on television or streaming at www.bctv.org and on the BCTV YouTube channel.
Guests are Dennis Landon of Fair Districts PA, Carol Kuniholm of the League of Women Voters and Fair Districts PA, and Berks LWV board member Bill Litvin.
The program will focus on redistricting and why it should matter to voters in Berks County. It will provide insight on how voting districts are determined for seats on Congress and state legislative bodies.
BCTV will repeat the broadcast on Friday at 2 p.m.; April 15 at 11 a.m.; and April 16 at 4 p.m.
Lake Ontelaunee history
Keystone Villa at Fleetwood will host a program on Lake Ontelaunee, Berks County’s second largest lake, on April 16 at 2 p.m. at the facility, 501 Hoch Road, Maidencreek Township.
Brian Engelhardt from the Berks History Center speaks about the fascinating history of the 1,082-acre lake, built in 1926 and owned by the city of Reading as a source of drinking water.

Student art on display
The 42nd Annual Secondary Art Exhibition, facilitated by the Berks County Intermediate Unit, will take place through Monday, April 15, at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading. The exhibit is available for viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Art educators from Berks schools select artwork from high school students to be displayed. This year more than 1,700 pieces of art are in the exhibition.
Penn State Berks theater
Penn State Berks will present one-act plays from “All in the Timing” by David Ives and “Love Kills,” a short play about the untold story of domestic abuse, at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $10 for the general public and $5 for the campus community with a Penn State ID.

Graveyard cleanup
The Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation will be conducting a cleanup Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Breitenstein graveyard in Cumru Township. String trimmers, loppers, rakes, shovels and gloves will be among the items needed.
The group will meet at the Heritage retirememt community located along Route 10. Enter on Tranquility Lane. Take the first right turn after the guard booth and go to the last parking lot on the right.
