A garage behind the Mary M. Campbell Marcus Hook Public Library went up in flames shortly after 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Multiple crews responded to the blaze, which engulfed the detached building near West 10th Street and Washington Avenue.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which was under control in 15 minutes, said Trainer Marcus Hook Fire Company Chief Dan Smith.

First crews on the scene reported a working fire, and the assignment was upgraded, according to emergency radio traffic. Crews described the 10-foot by 20-foot structure as  “well off.”

Soon three lines were in service.

Smith said the cause was under investigation by borough and county officials.
