Transgender man critically injured in shooting at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach

One victim was transported to Aventura Hospital in critical condition, according to police

Police are investigating a shooting at the Gulfstream Park shopping center in Hallandale Beach that left a transgender man critically injured early Wednesday morning.

Hallandale Beach Police officials said officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 800 block of Silks Run, near Strike 10 Bowling, regarding a shooting.

The victim, 37 years old, was found and transported to Aventura Hospital in critical condition, according to police. His identity hasn't been released.

The shooting was an isolated incident. Police said the cause is under investigation but do not believe it was a hate crime.

Video showed multiple police vehicles including a crime scene unit van at Gulfstream Park, with one area closed off by yellow crime scene tape.

A tow truck was also seen taking away two cars from the shopping center.

No other information was immediately known.
