What do British Airways credit cards offer?
British Airways has two air mile credit cards that will earn you Avios points on everyday spending.
The British Airways American Express Credit Card offers one Avios point for every £1 you spend and 5,000 bonus Avios when you spend £1,000 in your first three months with the card. It has a representative APR of 31% (variable) and no annual fee.
The British Airways American Express Premium Plus Credit Card offers 1.5 Avios points for every £1 that you spend on purchases and three Avios for every £1 spent with British Airways or BA Holidays. You'll get 25,000 bonus Avios points when you spend £3,000 in your first three months with the card. However, it comes with a £300 annual fee and has a representative APR of 139.9% (variable).
You can convert Avios into air miles for British Airways and other airlines in the Oneworld group, including American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Qatar Airways.
These cards are powered by American Express, so you will only qualify for a welcome offer if you've not had a personal Amex in the past two years.

Can I use a British Airways card abroad?
You will be able to use your British Airways credit card overseas, but you may want to avoid doing this as it will typically charge foreign transaction fees.
Where are British Airways credit cards accepted?
British Airways credit cards operate on the American Express (Amex) network. Amex isn't as widely accepted by retailers in the UK as Visa and Mastercard. So if you're planning on taking out a British Airways Amex card for a big purchase, make sure the retailer will accept it as a form of payment before going ahead.
Does British Airways offer an eligibility check?
British Airways cards are administered by American Express, which does offer an eligibility checker on its website. This will perform a 'soft search' of your Experian credit file. This won't impact your credit score and means you'll know your likelihood of being approved before you apply.
Are the British Airways credit cards interest-free?
The British Airways American Express credit cards don't currently come with any 0% offers on purchases, so you should pay back your full balance each month to avoid being charged interest.

Our customer scores for credit card companies are based on an online survey of 3,775 members of the public, conducted in October 2023.
The score is calculated using a combination of overall satisfaction with the brand and the likelihood of recommending the provider to a friend.
Star ratings
We also ask credit card customers to rate brands on five categories including customer service, application process, clarity of statement, transparency of charges and ability to manage the account online or via a mobile app — so you can get an idea of the quality of service you might receive before you sign up.
Star ratings for each category are calculated independently of each other and the provider customer score.
Providers must receive a minimum sample size of 40 respondents to be included in our customer satisfaction tables.
