INDIANAPOLIS — Crews with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works will launch a pothole blitz on Monday, April 15, to address road issues caused by high rainfall. For the past few days, crews have worked to address reports of standing water.

According to DPW, the ground is saturated, which will likely cause more “runoff,” thus causing localized flooding across Indianapolis.

Individuals can contact Citizens Energy Group at 317-924-3311 to notify officials of heavy rain that causes flooding and drainage issues. Residents can report potholes by contacting the Mayor’s Action Center at 317-327-4622, using the Request Indy app or online here

DPW also wants to reiterate the safety message that the public should never travel through flood waters with by saying, “Turn around, don’t drown.” To learn more, please visit here.
