...FLOOD WATCH FOR THE STATE OF HAWAII WEDNESDAY THROUGH AT LEAST
FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.
* WHEN...From Wednesday morning through Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of
streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along
with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.
Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A kona low developing north of the state will bring the
potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms over portions of
the state from Wednesday through Friday and possibly
continuing through the weekend. The highest chances for
excessive rainfall appear to be over Oahu and Maui county
later Wednesday through Thursday, then slowly shift westward,
with the focus mainly on Kauai by later Friday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Remember that it does not have to be raining at your location for
flash flooding to occur. If you notice signs of heavy rain or
thunderstorms upslope, move quickly away from flood prone areas.

THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.
* WHEN...Until 715 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 402 PM HST, rainfall has decreased slightly but the
potential for continued heavy rainfall still remains through
the afternoon. The heaviest rainfall is occurring between
central Oahu and Haleiwa.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waipio, Wahiawa, Wheeler Field, Mililani, Schofield Barracks,
Kunia, Waikele, Waipahu, Pearl City, Waialua, Haleiwa, Aiea,
Waikane, Waianae, Waiahole, Punaluu, Nanakuli, Makakilo,
Hauula and Halawa.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- Na Hoku Hanohano award winner, Kala'e Camarillo, his father, Rama Camarillo and brother, Kamaka Camarillo talked about their musical legacy and performing with their school's students at Kahala Mall Friday night.
This was the first and last time Rama Camarillo and his Kamehameha Maui Middle School will be performing with his son's school students because Rama Camarillo is retiring at the end of this school year. Kamaka Camarillo is a music teacher at Kaiser High School in Hawaii Kai and Kala'e Camarillo teaches at Kapalama Elementary School in Honolulu.
The Camarillos talked about their musical legacy and performed on Good Morning Hawaii Saturday.
