Man killed in weekend shooting identified

Police said Elijajuan Guyton, 23, died at the hospital after the shooting in the 2100 block of North High Street.

DENVER — The man fatally shot Saturday in Denver has been identified. 

Just after 7 p.m., police posted on social media that officers were on scene of the shooting in the 2100 block of North High Street That's a few blocks west of City Park. In an update Tuesday, Denver Police said they responded there around 6:40 p.m. and found 23-year-old Elijajuan Guyton suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police did not share suspect information or any additional details surrounding the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
