73-year-old Michigan woman killed after hitting parked car, cafe sign in crash

CLARE COUNTY, MI -- A 73-year-old Farwell woman was killed Wednesday in a crash that happened along West Ludington Drive around 3 p.m. According to UpNorthLive, the victim has been identified as Monica Weaver.

Police say Weaver appears to have been traveling northwest on West Ludington Drive when her vehicle left the road on the southbound shoulder. Weaver’s car then hit an unoccupied parked vehicle before hitting the sign of Conlay’s Café.

When she hit the sign, Weaver’s car overturned and came to a rest in the cafe parking lot. Weaver was pronounced dead on the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
