Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Which Bedding Brand Should You Buy?

There’s no better feeling than climbing into a bed made with soft, buttery bedding at the end of a long day. In the debate between Cozy Earth vs. Brooklinen, I’m comparing a luxury bedding brand commonly featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things list against a mid- to top-tier brand that has perfected the art of affordable, luxurious bedding. Cozy Earth and Brooklinen are two popular names on the online bedding market with bed and bath catalogs highlighting comfortable sheets, blankets, pillows, pj’s—the list goes on.

I’ve had the opportunity to test different bedding products from each of the brands. Honestly, they’ve both secured spots in my home, including several items that are my favorites to cuddle with. Whether you’re in the market for a fresh set of luxury sheets or a pillow firm and supportive enough for a side sleeper—trust me, you don’t want to sleep on these brands (figuratively, not literally).

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Head-To-Head Overview

Price

  • Cozy Earth is a luxury bedding brand and is generally more expensive than Brooklinen. This is true for its sheets, comforter, duvets and blankets.
  • Brooklinen isn’t a budget brand by any means. Most sheet sets (including both a fitted and flat sheet) start at over $100 for a queen. But they are able to make quality bedding and bedding accessories available at a more competitive price than Cozy Earth and other luxury brands.

Materials And Fabric

  • Cozy Earth is known for its smooth, buttery bedding and loungewear made with viscose from bamboo. Bamboo is a high-end material that’s more breathable and moisture-wicking than cotton, but feels soft and ultra cozy. Most of Cozy Earth’s products are made with viscose from bamboo, but they feature additional bedding made with premium materials like silk and a unique blend of bamboo and linen.
  • Brooklinen offers a larger variety of bedding materials and weaves. Its catalog includes a combination of common and luxurious bedding materials like percale, sateen, linen and organic cotton, in addition to warmer materials like flannel and cashmere. For its comforters, customers have their choice between down and down-alternative constructions. You can also find down and down-alternative pillows, and a memory-foam option.

Company Policies

  • Cozy Earth has a more generous warranty, with a ten-year backing, but a shorter trial period with a 100-night policy. Returns within the trial are accepted, but come with a $12 processing fee.
  • Brooklinen offers a lengthy 365-day return policy on most of its products, but a limited two-year warranty during which they replace or refund defective items. Its return fee is also a little cheaper at $10.

Colorways

  • Cozy Earth features classic, earthy and rich tones like oak, clay and walnut. If you’re looking for any unique patterns or bright pastel colors, Cozy Earth is not your pick.
  • Brooklinen’s colorways are generally more friendly, youthful and include a variety of patterns. You also have a choice of cool tones, like blue mist and willow.

Size

  • Cozy Earth sheet sets include sizes twin/twin XL, full, queen, king, California king and split king. Split king is a size less commonly offered by bedding brands. Its comforter, as expected, has more limited sizing: twin, queen/full and king.
  • Brooklinen has all standard sizes between twin to California king, but doesn’t offer split king.

Care

  • Cozy Earth and Brooklinen have similar wash instructions. For sheets, wash in cold water with a mild detergent, avoid bleach and tumble dry. Although, Brooklinen recommends you tumble dry on low while Cozy Earth says a regular cycle is perfectly acceptable. For their comforters, both brands suggest you spot clean and dry clean only.
  • It’s always best practice to follow the specific wash instructions on the care tag of your bedding, regardless of the brand it’s from.

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Comforters

Cozy Earth

MOST POPULAR

Cozy Earth Comforters (Queen, Bamboo Viscose)

Pros

  • Choice of material (silk or bamboo) and two fill levels
  • Loops at the corners to attach a duvet cover

Cons

  • To prevent voiding its extended warranty, a duvet cover is required

My partner and I are hot sleepers and we sleep with the Cozy Earth bamboo viscose blanket year-round. Available in 100% Mulberry silk or smooth and sleek bamboo viscose fill options, this comforter is practically customizable to your needs. Go with the bamboo if you want a thin, breathable cooling comforter. The silk option is best for a luxe, puffy-looking comforter like the ones you see in home magazines.

Brooklinen

All-Season Down Comforter (Full/Queen)

Pros

  • Three fill options
  • Hypoallergenic and Downmark-certified fill
  • Loops at corners to tie a duvet cover

Cons

  • Not as eco-friendly as the brand’s down-alternative comforters

Brooklinen has two comforter materials to choose from, down and down alternative, and three fill level options. I tested the All-Season Brooklinen Down Comforter in a panel of seven different comforters, and this was the lightest and airiest. It almost felt like there were pillows in the packaging because it was so light. It’s a good pick for people who want a breathable blanket that doesn’t make you hot, without compromising fluff and coziness. Although it’s lightweight, it’s significant enough to make you feel like you’re covered and cozy all night. I gifted this comforter to a good friend and her husband after testing it last year, and they still thank me to this day.

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Sheets

Cozy Earth

Bamboo Sheet Set (Queen)

Pros

  • Fits mattresses up to 20 inches thick
  • 100% bamboo viscose is soft, breathable and moisture-wicking
  • Split king option

Cons

  • Prices start at over $300 for a twin-size set (when not on sale)

Cozy Earth’s most popular sheets are made from 100% bamboo viscose, a soft, breathable and moisture-wicking material that regulates temperature better than cotton. I have a set and gifted another to my future mother-in-law. They’re lightweight and airy, yet soft and smooth to the touch. I recommend them to any hot sleeper, or generally any sleeper who wants to climb into a bed made with crisp, cool sheets that are softer than percale. This set is intentionally oversize for a slightly looser fit that suits mattresses up to 20 inches thick.

Brooklinen

Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set (Queen)

Pros

  • Short- and long-side tag labels
  • OEKO-TEX certified

Cons

  • No split king option

As I mentioned above, Brooklinen has a wider variety of sheet materials to pick from than Cozy Earth. The brand’s best-selling sheet set is its Luxe Sateen Core Sheets, and I currently have a set in graphite-and-steel oxford stripe on my guest bed. They’re accommodating for most sleepers because they’re soft and buttery with a 480 thread count, but they’re also more breathable than other sateen sheets I’ve tried. They’ve also gotten softer with each wash, and have held up impressively well over the past two years that I’ve had them. Plus, they come with “long” and “short” side labels to prevent mix-ups when making the bed.

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Pillows

Cozy Earth

Silk Pillow (Standard)

Pros

  • Made with luxurious Mulberry silk and bamboo viscose
  • Breathable and temperature regulating
  • Ideal for stomach and combination sleepers

Cons

  • Requires fluffing and might be too short for side sleepers

Cozy Earth doesn’t have a huge catalog of pillows—in fact, there’s just one—but it’s one luxurious pillow. The shell is made from bamboo viscose and the filling is 100% Mulberry silk. It’s as soft as a cloud, smooth and ultra fluffy. Cozy Earth also says it can help regulate temperature thanks to its breathable and moisture-wicking construction. Choose between standard and king sizes.

Brooklinen

Marlow Pillow (Standard)

Pros

  • You can adjust the firmness using zippers
  • Mesh gussets help promote airflow

Cons

  • Too tall for stomach and petite back sleepers
  • Spot clean only

Brooklinen offers a fluffy down pillow with three firmness level options, a down-alternative pillow, square and lumbar pillows and a memory-foam one. I have the Marlow Pillow, a memory-foam pillow with a supportive loft and firm feel. Its core is constructed with cooling memory foam and the cover is 100% sateen cotton. It’s ideal for side and combination sleepers because it helps promote proper spinal alignment and doesn’t fall flat. Choose between king and standard sizing, plus you can save money when you bundle two or more together.

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Blankets And Throws

Cozy Earth

Waffle Blanket Throw

Pros

  • Breathable and lightweight feel
  • Machine washable
  • Multiple color and size options

Cons

  • Retail price is over $200 (when not on sale)

As warmer weather approaches, the Waffle Blanket from Cozy Earth is a good one to keep stocked in your blanket basket. Made with a comfortable blend of viscose from bamboo and cotton, it’s extra soft and comfortable, but breathable and lightweight. It’s just enough cover to cuddle up with on the couch without getting too warm. Pick between four sizes: throw, oversized throw, queen and king. Plus it’s washer-dryer friendly.

Brooklinen

Organic Cotton Throw Blanket

Pros

  • GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified cotton
  • Two color options

Cons

  • Only one size (50 by 70 inches)

With several cozy blankets to choose from, the organic cotton throw is a solid year-round pick. It’s made in Portugal with 100% organic cotton, certified by GOTS and OEKO-TEX. It’s soft and cuddly with a medium weight that’s comforting in the winter, and not too overbearing in the summer since organic cotton is a more breathable material than cotton or wool. Choose between two colors, vanilla or blue marina, and you can throw it in the washing machine for easy TLC.

Cozy Earth Vs. Brooklinen: Pajamas/Loungewear

Cozy Earth

Short Sleeve Bamboo Pajama Set

Pros

  • Wide range of sizes (XS to XXXL) and color options
  • Loose and breathable feel is perfect for warm weather
  • Designed with pockets and drawstring

Cons

  • The set is a little pricey, especially at retail

I was introduced to Cozy Earth with the brand’s bamboo pajamas, a recurring pick on Oprah’s favorite things, and I immediately saw the appeal. The stretch-knit fabric is made with 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex. They’re soft and buttery with a thick, but comfortable feel that moves with your body.

I especially love them in the summer because of their breathable, moisture-wicking feel. They’re the type of pajamas that make you want to ditch your favorite baggy T-shirt and shorts (well, maybe not completely). They’re expensive, but completely worth it. Mine arrived a little baggy, but shrunk to be true-to-size after the first and second wash.

Brooklinen

Waffle Bath Robe

Pros

  • Pre-washed 100% Turkish cotton construction
  • Multiple color options
  • OEKO-TEX certified

Cons

  • Not as size-inclusive as other brands
  • Runs small

I didn’t consider robes loungewear until I got the Brooklinen Waffle Robe. It’s the type of robe you’d find in a luxury spa, made with 100% Turkish cotton and a luxurious waffle texture. It’s pre-washed to feel extra soft, and designed to minimize shrinkage after going through the washer and dryer. They recommend sizing up for an oversize fit and I agree. My only regret with this robe is that I didn’t get a larger size for that cozy, spa-like experience.
