Bird confuses officers by mimicking police sirens: ‘It’s so accurate’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Officers were puzzled when a bird was heard precisely mimicking a police siren earlier this week.

According to Thames Valley Police, officers were at a policing base in Bicester, United Kingdom, when they discovered one of the birds picked up on an all too familiar sound.

The video, taken on Monday, shows the bird sitting in a tree, chirping to the tune of what usually is heard from an activated emergency vehicle.

“It’s so accurate, they’ve been left thinking the sirens were faulty on the cars!” the department said.

But the culprit was a resident bird who clearly knew how to do incredible impersonations.

Facebook users in the police department’s comments were sharing their similar experiences with birds mimicking all sorts of sounds.

“We had one that impersonated a vehicle reversing “warning”…. amazing!” one said.

Another commented, “We had [a] crow in our garden who mimics a mol bike phone ringing!”
