Finish those Easter egg hunts early Sunday afternoon while it is sunny because there is a chance for snow in the Denver area as evening arrives.
The National Weather Service Boulder forecast said there is a 20% chance for snow after 5 p.m. with rain and snow overnight and into Monday morning. The high country also is expected to receive light snow on Sunday and into Monday.
Meanwhile, the weather service issued a Red Flag warning from noon to 8 p.m. for the plains and the Palmer Divide south and southeast of Denver as warm weather and wind combine. Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties are included in the warning, the National Weather Service posted on X.
In the Denver area, Sunday’s high temperature will be 64 with breezy winds sometimes gusting up to 25 miles per hour, the forecast said. Snow could move into the area after 5 p.m., and then rain and snow showers could fall through noon Monday. The storm system also could cause some thunder.
The chance of precipitation on Sunday night and early Monday morning is 40% with little or no snow accumulation expected.
The chance of precipitation increases to 40% on Monday, but forecasters do not expect it to accumulate.
