Updated: Victim identified in fatal Macon shooting. Another victim injured

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence inside Bloomfield Townhomes on Bloomfield Road just after 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Deputies responded to the scene and found a female, 22, and a male, 48, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported both victims to a medical facility for treatment. The man died from his injuries at the medical facility. He was identified as Tausheba James Thompson.

The female was listed in critical condition Thursday, according to medical staff.

No one else was harmed as a result of the incident, according to officials.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were under investigation Thursday. Additional information was expected to be released as it became available.
