O.J. Simpson was a resident of South Florida as he owned a home in Kendall.The Simpson family announced on social media Thursday that Simpson died Wednesday at age 76 after a battle with cancer.According to the Associated Press in 2017, Simpson put his home in the Miami area for sale for $1.3 million.The AP said Simpson purchased the home in South Florida in 2000.Simpson lived in the home with his children until his 2008 conviction in an armed robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas.Simpson was granted parole by a Nevada board in 2017, but Florida's Attorney General said he was not welcomed to move to Florida after he was released on parole.He was spotted in Florida numerous times following his release from prison.In 1994, Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman, were found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home.Simpson was acquitted in their deaths, but found liable in a civil trial.He played nine of his 11 seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills. He finished his pro football career with the San Francisco 49ers for two seasons.Simpson was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
