Man shot to death near elementary school in West Jackson

A man was shot to death Friday in the middle of the street near a Jackson elementary school, according to Public Information Officer Tommie Brown.

Brown said Jackson police responded Friday morning to the scene near the site of Pecan Park Elementary School at Clinton Avenue. The site is not far from the Jackson Zoo in West Jackson.

Brown said an unidentified male had been shot multiple times and died at the location.

There is no information on a suspect at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
