Top performers this week in Greenville County high school athletics

Here are some of the top performers this week in Greenville County high school sports for April 8-14. This is a growing list of athletes that comes from nominations sent by coaches, posts to social media and MaxPreps.

Boys

Baseball

Miles Barbery, Fountain Inn: Barbery had a triple to drive in two runs to tie the game as Fountain scored six in the final inning to beat Palmetto, 7-6.

Bennett Candler, Eastside: Candler pitched a complete game with four hits allowed and also hit a home run in an 11-2 win against Wade Hampton.

AJ Cammarota, Blue Ridge: Cammarota pitched a complete game in a 2-1 win against Chapman and struck out nine while allowing only two hits and a walk.

Elijah Doll, Hillcrest: Doll hit two home runs in a 10-1 win against Woodmont.

Jose Doubront, Greenville: Dubront homered and scored three runs in a  6-5 win against Greenwood in 11 innings.

Tyson Fine, Riverside: Fine pitched a complete game and struck out seven with three earned runs allowed  in a 10-5 win against Laurens.

Will Fulcher, Woodmont: Fulcher drove in four runs and pitched five innings with one earned run allowed in a 9-3 win against Hillcrest.

Ejan Fusetti, Eastside: Fusetti was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in a game against Wade Hampton.

Luke Godfrey, Greer: Godfrey pitched six innings in a 5-1 win against Travelers Rest, allowing four hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

Austin Holtz, Fountain Inn: Holtzee went 3-for-3 in a 3-1 win against Palmetto.

James Kakaras, Riverside: Kakaras was 4-for-4, scored four runs and had two RBIs in a win against Laurens.

Hayden Laird, Greenville: Laird went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in a win against Greenwood.

Alex LeCoste, Hillcrest: LeCoste hit two home runs in a game against Woodmont.

Peter Mershon, Eastside: Mershon hit a home run and drove in a game against Wade Hampton.

Brayden Passmore, Fountain Inn: Passmore pitched a complete game four-hitter in a win against Palmetto with eight strikeouts.

Garrett Shipman, Hillcrest: Shipman pitched a complete-game on-hitter and struck out 12 against Woodmont.

Nelson Vaughan, Southside Christian: Vaughan pitched six innings of a 9-2 win against Westside with four strikeouts.

Collin Wilson, Fountain Inn: Wilson had a walk-off RBI double in the seventh inning of a win against Palmetto.

Golf

Tip Price, Greenville: Price was co-champion with a 71 and led Greenville to a seven-stroke victory and third straight title in the Greenville County Championship.

Groves Williams, Christ Church: Williams was co-champion in leading Christ Church to runner-up in the 17-team Greenville County tournament.

Lacrosse

Christian Carbonell, Greenville: Carbonell had three goals and an assist as Greenville beat Mauldin and improved to 11-3. Mauldin was No. 8 and Greenville No. 13 in the MaxPreps state rankings.

Jack Covington, Mauldin: Covington scored four goals and had an assist against Greenville.

Soccer

Wilfer Bustamante, J.L. Mann: Bustamante had two goals in a 5-0 win against Woodmont and another goal in a 2-1 overtime win against Riverside.

Luke Manley, Wade Hampton: Manley had a goal and two assists in a 3-2 win against Byrnes.

Track and field

Ty Campbell, Blue Ridge: Campbell won the 110 hurdles (16.42) and 400 hurdles (1:02.43) in a five-team meet at Travelers Rest.

Cole Hastings, Blue Ridge: Hastings set a school record in the javelin with a throw of 42.79 meters.

Alex Manguia, Blue Ridge: Manguia won the 100 meters (11.18) and the 200 meters (23.10)

Girls

Lacrosse

Isabella Bright, Riverside: Bright had five goals and seven points in a 12-10 loss to J.L. Mann.

Morgan Siglin, Wade Hampton: Siglin scored 11 goals and had three assists in a 17-5 win against Heathwood Hall. Siglin leads the state with 126 goals and 161 points.

Softball

Harper Greer, St. Joseph’s: Greer beat her own school record in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches.

Aising MacLeod, Greenville: Macleod had a three-run homer in a 5-1 win against Easley.

Bella Sands, Blue Ridge: Sands had a walk-off RBI hit in a 9-8 win against Chapman.

Soccer

Carolina Getz, St. Joseph’s:  Getz had two goals and an assist in a 4-3 win against Wade Hampton.

Payton James, Mauldin: James had two goals and an assist in a 6-1 win against T.L. Hanna.

Laney Keith, J.L. Mann: Keith had two goals and two assists in a 9-0 win against Woodmont.

Track and field

Jayva Bivings, Blue Ridge: Bivings won the long jump (16-05.25) and the triple jump (31-08.00) in a five-team meet at Travelers Rest.

Jewel Brantley, Greer: Brantley won the 100 meters (11.94) and 200 meters (24.97) in a five-team meet

Shemiaya Earle, Hillcrest: Earl won the long jump (14-09.00) and the triple jump (32-02.50) in a meet at Mauldin.

Jalasia Lewis, Greer: Lewis won the 400 meters (58.25) and finished second in the 100 meters.

DaMya Scott, Hillcrest: Scott won the 100 meters (12.56) and the 110 hurdles (15.47).

Havyn Spain, Hillcrest: Spain won the 100 meters (11.13) and the 400 hurdles (58.99).
