One dead, another seriously injured after quad bike crash in NSW's Hunter region

A man has died and another is in a critical condition after a quad bike rolled in NSW's Hunter region.

At around 7pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to a fire trail in Cooranbong, west of Morriset at Lake Macquarie, following reports a two-seater All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) had crashed.

The passenger, a 35-year-old man, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The driver, a 30-year-old man was treated at the scene and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
