ENRICO, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) - A Virginia teen who was reportedly abducted Wednesday night has been found safe, police say.

Virginia State Police issued an Amber Alert for 15-year-old Ronique Poteat who was believed to be in extreme danger.

Police believe Ronique was abducted from her home by her half-brother, identified as 23-year-old Tyrell Ashley Davenport, Wednesday night.

According to police, officers were called to an apartment in the 400 block of Newbridge Terrace for a reported domestic dispute and discovered the teenager had been taken.

Ronique is 5 feet and 4 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds, according to police. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a pink Nike T-shirt, red boxers, a black bonnet and Michael Kors glasses.

Davenport is 6 feet tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a dark blue zip-up hoodie, dark blue jeans and black Timberland boots.

According to police, Ronique and Davenport left the area in a black 2006 Honda Accord with VA plate KI&ARI, which as found shortly after the alert was issued.

At around 10:20 p.m. Thursday night, Henrico Police conducted a traffic stop on a car on I-95 South near the Chamberlayne Avenue exit. Poteat was found safely inside the vehicle.

An adult female was also inside the car and is being detained for questioning, according to police.

Currently, investigators haven’t found Davenport, who remains at large.

Police are unable to say a motive for the abduction.
