Donny’s lead role in the musical, which is based on the story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis, revived the pop star's career in a time where it was facing a bit of a lull.

Admitting there had been difficulties behind the scenes, the former teen pop sensation has since opened up about fearing his career would be over if he did not deliver an outstanding performance night after night.

Donny, who had been famous since childhood, was riddled with worries that he wouldn’t be good enough in the critically acclaimed production.

However, it appears he didn’t have too much to worry about, as his portrayal was so successful that he has become synonymous with the role.
