Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will deliver his 11th State of the City address in northwest Detroit ahead of the NFL draft.

Duggan will outline several changes the city has undergone, such as neighborhood developments and cleanup efforts, along with likely touting the ability to host the 2024 NFL draft the following week. The address will kick off at 7 p.m. April 17 at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, though the event is not open to the public.

The public can watch the speech on various streaming platforms:

The livestream will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Duggan delivered his first State of the City address in February 2014 while the city was undergoing bankruptcy and under emergency management. Since then, Duggan has touted the city's increases in property values, commercial development, reductions in crime and unemployment, blight removal and beautifying the city through renovated parks, streetscapes, public art and restored historic buildings.

During last year's address, Duggan primarily focused on unveiling the ShotStoppers gun violence reduction program, cleanup efforts to remove illegal dumping, affordable housing and eviction prevention initiatives, and demolishing and stabilizing abandoned homes.
