HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - People from across the Tennessee Valley spent time in Huntsville Saturday afternoon for the 15th annual Battle of the Buffalo.

A chicken wing festival for a good cause, the money raised at the event all went towards cancer research and treatment.

Bragging rights were also on the line.

In friendly competition, judges picked which restaurants and individual teams had the best wings of the bunch.

“This event’s really special to us, we lost a fraternity brother in 2007 to acute leukemia, so my fraternity alpha tau omega is honoring him,” Battle of the Buffalo Director Grant Herschbine said. “Over 15 years we’ve raised a quarter of a million dollars for cancer research and treatment.”

Apart from the wing contest, there was also live music, entertainment and a 5k run.
