Sena UBT gives new role to an upset Danve
Shiv Sena UBT MLC and opposition leader in state legislative council Ambadas Danve, who was reportedly upset over not getting a Lok Sabha nomination from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing party campaigns in Marathwada region alongside Chandrakant Khaire — party’s candidate from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The move had led to discontent among Danve and his supporters. The appointment of Danve in the new role marks a strategic move as it gives him equal footing as Khaire.
Wagh’s attack on Dhanorkar’s liquor biz
BJP leader Chitra Wagh taking potshots on Congress’ Chandrapur candidate Pratibha Dhanorkar over her late husband’s alleged liquor business has drawn criticism from her former colleagues from NCP and led to exchanges on social media. Wagh has gone to Chandrapur for damage control measures after an alleged objectionable comments by BJP candidate Sudhir Mungantiwar. However, she seems to have created more trouble for the party.
Fight is not against Modi but Manuvadi
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge who was in Nagpur on Sunday to campaign for Congress candidate Vikas Thakre said that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is not a fight against Prime Minister Narendra Modi but against the “Manuwadi” ideology of the ruling dispensation. Addressing a rally for Thakre, who is pitted against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Kharge said that his party was fighting to save Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution that safeguards the rights of 140 crore Indians. He also warned that if the RSS-BJP wins, there will be no elections henceforth.
Kiran Samant met Fadnavis in Nagpur
Shiv Sena’s Kiran Samant on Sunday met Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Nagpur. Brother of Shiv Sena state industries minister Uday Samant, Kiran Samant is aspiring for Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha seat, where the BJP is pushing Union Minister Narayan Rane’s candidature. Kiran Samant’s meeting seems to be a desperate attempt to persuade Fadnavis as candidate for Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg seat.
