Positive impact of immigrants

This past February, I decided to find facts about the economic impact of immigrants in our country. Here are some of the facts I found:

Forty four percent of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or the children of immigrants.

(New American Economy.org)

Projections suggest a continuous expansion of the labor force fueled by increased immigration. Immigrants counteract the reduction in the labor force due to aging. A significant portion of immigrants fall between the 25-54 age group.

(Congressional Budget Office)

One in nine workers in Colorado is an immigrant: 33.2% of them work in construction, 12.2% are STEM workers in science, technology, engineering or math, and 13.4% are entrepreneurs. The others work in various other fields. (American Immigration Council, Immigrants in Colorado 2021)

Black immigrants play an important and growing role in our economy making outsize contributions to industries facing critical worker shortages such as health care and transportation. (American Immigration Council, Feb. 11)

Immigrants contribute to the U.S. economy through the supply of labor as well as through entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs increase the demand for labor by creating job vacancies and therefore increasing labor tightness. (The Role of Immigration in U.S. Labor Market 2023)

Estimates released in February by the Congressional Budget Office show that the higher projected immigration will expand the U.S. labor force by 5.2 million workers over the next decade. These workers should boost gross domestic product by 0.2 percentage point per year over the next decade, adding $7 trillion to the economy and contributing an extra $1 trillion in taxes.

These facts impressed upon us what a positive impact immigrants have had in building our economy. Thank you for reading and considering these facts.

The decline of Christianity

Douglas Sharp provided excellent statistical and secular data on why Christianity is declining in the United States, but the truth is that it is declining because “men love darkness because their deeds are evil” (John 3:19).

People no longer are being taught right from wrong and, because we are all sinners (Romans 3:23), we will choose the evil over the good every time.

Romans 1:18-32 details how that, despite knowing God exists because of Creation, we humans choose to ignore Him to our eternal peril.

Our Legislature is passing bills that are giving criminals a soft pass, while the victims suffer. Our Legislature is passing bills that are stealing more of our hard-earned money for black-hole programs that have no intention of helping anyone but to line their pockets. Our government is destroying our economy to remake our country in their own image.

Read Isaiah 5:20-24 and you will see what’s going on right before our eyes.

Thankfully, the God that many ignore will soon return to make all things new.

Status of the economy

According to the Heritage Foundation, Congress members “will likely vote another massive spending bill” when they return from their spring break. This conservative think tank goes on to say “this bill is initiated to fund “foreign wars” without a definition of success and drive up national debt to over $50T by the year 2034.

I wonder what “foreign wars” means; sounds like pork to me!

My fellow citizens, I am not an alarmist, but I see an attempt by the progressive left to flood our economy with new money, which will devalue the dollars in existence and renewed inflation will drive up national debt to suffocating levels. We must be aware of the impact of government spending of massive amounts of money will have on our economic system and our daily lives.

We cannot print money and spend it to prosperity. The run-up on prices of gold and other commodities has been increasing, i.e. a barrel of gas has increased $15 this year to a total of $85 per barrel. On the upside, the S&P 500 posted a gain of 10% in the first quarter as jobs have been plentiful. But the job market is expected to recede.

People have been forced to use credit cards when buying food, and overall prices are up 18% since President Joe Biden took office. Wholesale prices are up, and there is concern that we will see defaults on payments of credit cards.

We do not need our elected officials to pass more new bills that increase government spending.

Learning the truth

The TV stations should not be listened to. The never tell the truth. Thank God we have Fox News. On March 20, I listened to the live House of Representatives hearing with Tony Bobulinski, an intelligent, educated retired officer in the Navy who spent time defending our country.

Bobulinski swore under oath to tell the story of our President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. It was compelling and showed how President Biden has lied repeatedly to the American people. He has compromised our national security.

Bobulinski pleaded with the media to tell the truth to the American people. They need to know. Even our justice department has never talked to him.

That night I watched ABC to see if they would bring up the hearing — nothing. They only report bad news about Donald Trump.

Americans, wake up. Even my brother in Minnesota said he is no longer a Democrat. The have ruined this state.

Please, before you vote read the facts in the book “Blood Money” by Peter Schweizer.
