KENOVA, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man wanted by the Huntington Police Department was arrested on April 10 after being pulled over in connection to a moving traffic violation near 17th Street and Popular Street, according to the Kenova Police Department.

Curtis Levon Capers, 33, was arrested during the traffic stop.

Officers discovered multiple firearms and a large quantity of narcotics, including meth and fentanyl inside the car.

Capers is prohibited from carrying firearms due to prior felony convictions in Michigan and West Virginia, at both the state and federal levels.

Kenova officers, along with Ceredo Police officers, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies, and the FBI Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force raided Capers’ home at approximately 11:00 p.m. on April 10.

Inside, officers located additional firearms and distribution quantities amounting to more than 4,000 doses of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl. Cash located next to the distribution materials was also seized.

In addition to the Cabell County warrant, Capers is charged in Wayne County with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics and multiple counts of being a prohibited person in possession of firearms.

Charges are also pending against other parties who participated in the distribution, officials say.
