Driver seriously injured in crash on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta

A Marietta man has been rushed to the hospital after a serious single-vehicle accident early Monday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Johnson Ferry Road between Oak Lane and Post Oak Tritt Road.

SKYFOX 5 saw over a dozen emergency responders working to extract the man from the vehicle, which had suffered severe damage.

Investigators say that a black 2020 Mazda CX-5 driven by 45-year-old Ryan Hurley was traveling north on the road when it went off the road and hit a tree in the median.

Medics rushed Hurley to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

All lanes were shut down in both directions as crews worked at the scene.
