Kari Lake's Message to Roseanne Barr Goes Viral

Kari Lake and comedian Roseanne Barr had expressed nothing but love for each other ahead of an event at Mar-a-Lago.

Lake, the Republican contender for the Arizona U.S. Senate race this year, had a positive message for Barr—who similarly voiced her support for the politician.

"On my way to Maralago to help Support the great @KariLake! We must try to vote our way out of this for at least one last year.... and then if that doesn't work #1776," Barr posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.

The 1776 hashtag refers to the date of the Declaration of Independence, when the 13 American colonies ended their political connections to the British Empire.

Lake reposted Barr's message, ignoring the hashtag, and told the comedian, "I can't wait to see you!" That post went viral with almost 123,000 views.

Both women are big Donald Trump supporters and have regularly attended the former president's sprawling estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump has endorsed Lake for her senate race in the swing state.

Despite being a progressive for much of her time in the spotlight, Barr has become a vocal supporter of Trump and a staunch critic of so-called "cancel culture" in recent years.

She rose to fame as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s and then hit international fame with her 1990s sitcom, Roseanne.

But she was fired from the 2017 reboot of the series after making a racial comment about Valerie Jarrett, a one-time senior adviser to former President Barack Obama.

Barr said at the time that she would not have tweeted the joke had she known Jarrett was Black, and was happy to apologize for her remarks on air, but ABC decided to fire her. The network then rebranded Roseanne as The Connors and killed off her character.

She made a return to the stage in 2023 with her Roseanne Barr: Cancel This! stand-up special, debuting on the Fox Nation streaming service.

As for Lake, much like her idol Trump, she is facing her own legal woes after being sued for defamation by fellow Republican Stephen Richer.

He successfully sued her after she made claims he was involved in a plot to "rig" Arizona's most recent gubernatorial election, in 2022, where Democratic Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs defeated Lake and turned the state blue.

A court found her claims to be baseless and in March, Lake requested a jury decide the outcome of what damages she should pay.
