An Earl Township man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the township Sunday, the Berks County coroners’ office reported Monday.

Codey Prindle, 27, was pronounced dead at 7:11 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Holly Stavarski.

Prindle died of multiple injuries, and his death was ruled accidental.

Emergency crews were dispatched about 6:20 p.m. to the 200 block of Longview Road, between Manatawny and Laurel roads, for a report of a motorcycle down.

State police investigated but have not provided crash details.

The crash was the second fatal motorcycle crash to occur within a little more than two hours Sunday in eastern Berks.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Robert Lawler IV, 58, of Ivyland, Bucks County, was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and it hit an embedded boulder along the road.

Lawler and Prindle became the 12th and 13th people to die this year as a result of crashes on Berks roads.
