Thief allegedly uses metal rod in store heist, gets caught waiting for the bus

SAN ANTONIO - A local thief allegedly walked into a store threatening a convenience store clerk with a metal rod before robbing the store Friday afternoon.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the incident happened around 4 p.m. near the 2800 block of Thousand Oaks Drive.

Police share that the suspect walked into the Chevron convenience store with a metal rod and threatened the clerk.

The suspect then stole several items and fled from the area on foot.

Authorities were able to find the suspect, Mohammed Arshad, 25, just blocks away at a nearby bus stop.

Arshad was arrested without incident and was booked for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
