VCSC Circle of Honor 2024 recipients to be honored in May

Apr. 15—The Vigo County School Corp. has announced the recipients of the third annual Circle of Honor.

Established in 2022, Circle of Honor was created to recognize those who have demonstrated a commitment and support of Vigo County Schools, according to a news release.

Members of the Circle of Honor board of directors, an anonymous group of community leaders, say the honor is unique in that it includes prominent alumni of Vigo County schools, along with worthy members of staff, administration and the community who have made substantial contributions to Vigo County Schools throughout its history.

Superintendent Chris Himsel will attend the May 10 event for the first time; it will be hosted at Terre Haute North High School.

"Since becoming a member of the Vigo County community in July, I've had the chance to meet many people who are currently working to better our schools, and I've had the chance to meet many people who have made a big impact on our schools throughout the years," Himsel stated.

He added, "It is important to honor the people from our past, while we work towards a stronger future for our schools and students."
